How to get to Ravello

Ravello may not be the closest destination to reach, but it sure is worth it.

PRIMARY RECOMMENDATION

1) Fly into Naples Capodichino Airport (NAP)

2) Book a car service to Ravello (approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes)

SECONDARY RECOMMENDATION

1) Fly into Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO)

2) Take the Leonardo Express train from FCO to Roma Termini Station (Rome's central train station, approx. 30 minutes)

3) Take a high-speed train to Napoli Centrale Station (Frecciarossa or Italo are high-speed trains, approx. 1 hour)

4) Book a car service to Ravello (approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes)

ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF ARRIVAL ONCE IN NAPLES

1) Take a ferry from Naples to Amalfi (approx. 1 hour and 45 minutes) and then take a taxi from Amalfi to Ravello (approx. 15 minutes)

2) Take the Pintour Bus from Naples Airport to Ravello (approx. 1 hour and 35 minutes)

3) Take the SITA SUD bus from Naples to Ravello, will need to transfer in Amalfi. See schedule here for Naples-Amalfi and here for Amalfi-Ravello (approx. 2 hours)

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

1) We do not recommend renting a car. The roads on the Amalfi Coast are extremely narrow with motorcycles / scooters and large buses passing at high speeds. Additionally, parking can be very difficult and/or expensive in the small coastal towns.

2) Please be mindful with designer goods, jewelry and watches in Rome and Naples. Train stations, specifically, have a reputation of pickpocketing.

PASSPORT

Please check your passport expiration date and make sure it is valid for at least 6 months from your departure date. Entry into Italy will be denied otherwise.

ELECTRONICS

Cell phone: Please check with your current cell-phone provider for their international service plans as WI-FI is not guaranteed to be available during all travel.

Outlet Converters: Please be sure to purchase and bring US-EU outlet converters as Italy has different voltage and plugs than the US.

Prior to bringing larger electronics (hair dryer / streamers), please check if they are compatible with European voltage (220-240 volts in EU vs. 120 volts in the US).
